Medical Rebilling with a Debt Collector

After disputing with a medical debt collector, many of our clients believe that the medical bill was to be paid by their insurance provider.  If you are in that situation we can ask the debt collector to attempt a medical rebill. This is a process of asking your insurance to cover the medical bill being collected buy the debt collector.

 

What is medical rebilling?

Medical rebilling is where a debt collector goes back to your medical insurance company and asks them to pay the bill. In short, you are getting the debt collector to go collect debts against your insurance provider. Debt collectors are pros at getting them to pay.

 

Medical rebilling may not work on:

  • Medical bills older than 18 months.
  • Out of Network provider billing
  • Medicaid / Medicare / CHIP recipients

 

What do I need to provide you to do a medical re-bill?

 

We will need one (1) of the following from you:

  • ID card issued from the medical insurance company (front and back)
  • Letter from your insurance company stating dates of coverage and the Group Number, Carrier ID and Member Number
